This is my working wiki for EDUC 7107 and the Multimedia Workshop for the 2012 Mt. Blue Summer Institute.

  • Topic: Introducing, Modeling, and Promoting Digital Citizenship
  • Population: This workshop is designed for teachers at Mt. Blue High School and Mt. Blue Middle School, both are 1:1 schools.
  • Outcomes: Teachers will weave digital citizenship into their curriculum, discuss what modeling this topic looks like, and create materials to promote digital citizenship.
  • Gap: According to a recent needs assessment survey, 62% of the staff stated they did not include digital citizenship in their curriculum, or they were emerging in their own knowledge about digital citizenship. 58% of the staff said they used technology on a daily basis for communication and collaboration with students and peers. This leads to many questions concerning the quality of modeling and promoting digital citizenship in these daily communication and collaboration sessions.
